This modern engagement ring has been designed to conjure feelings of a newly discovered trove, as if a natural rockface has opened to reveal this ancient treasure within.
Chloe has meticulously hand-carved this ring from a delicate piece of jewellers wax. She started by carefully crafting a perfectly snug space in which to place the tourmaline, before slowly building up the claws and the band of the ring. Every piece in the Slate collection is one of a kind and hand-carved, making each piece completely unique and exclusive.
This ring contains a 0.96ct pear shaped yellow tourmaline. This stone has been sourced from a supplier that can guarantee the traceability of the stone from Sri Lanka. They specialise in artisanal gemstone mining and ethical gemstone dealing.
This beautiful stone has been set into recycled 9ct yellow gold.
If the plan is for a surprise engagement, Chloe recommends proposing with the piece in its current size and then sending it back to her studio for a free resize. Visit Chloe to be sized in person or your local jeweller will be able to tell you your size.
This burst of sunshine tourmaline is not a hard as traditional stones such as diamonds or sapphires. So extra care is needed when wearing this precious stone.
If this is almost perfect but not quite right get in touch here or via hello@chloesolomon.co.uk and Chloe will be more than happy to help you with your ideas, budget and timeframe.
