This piece has been designed to evoke feelings of ancient treasure, as if the gold itself has been carefully carved out of a rock. The finished piece resembles a precious natural artefact, beautifully contrasted with a strikingly cut, sparkling blush stone.
Chloe carefully hand carves each ring in her Slate collection to craft a completely unique and special piece of jewellery. She starts with a tiny piece of jeweller’s wax, before carefully measuring the stone and delicately carving the individual settings and the shank of the ring. This wax model is then cast into subtle yellow gold.
This ring features an octagon or emerald cut Zircon from Queensland Australia. These stones are traceable and ethically sourced, trackable to the exact mine in Queensland. This particular piece has a warm pinkish tone, evocative of champagne, which marries beautifully with the yellow of the gold into which it is set.
The ring has been made from recycled yellow gold and is hallmarked with a fineness stamp and assay office mark.
If you are planning a surprise engagement Chloe recommends proposing with the piece in its current state and then sending it back to her studio for a free resize. Either visit Chloe to be sized in person or any local jeweller should be able to tell you your size.
Please note that Zircons are less hard than stones such as diamonds and sapphires so this ring will require a wee bit more care and attention while worn.
